Live sky
Move your phone or tablet across the sky: GAIA shows the stars, constellations, planets, the Moon and the International Space Station in the direction you point.
Calibrate the compass
If the stars look shifted, move the phone in a figure 8 and step away from metal objects.
Red light
Turn on red light to keep your night vision: your eyes need about 20 minutes to adapt to the dark.
Look for the ISS
It looks like a bright dot crossing the sky in a few minutes, shortly after sunset or before dawn.
Positions are computed in your browser (bright-star catalogue, astronomy-engine for the Sun, Moon and planets). Accuracy depends mostly on the device compass, which can be off by a few degrees.
