Planet
Venus
The hottest planet in the Solar System
Description
Venus is wrapped in sulfuric acid clouds and a carbon dioxide atmosphere so dense that surface pressure is about 90 times Earth's. The greenhouse effect heats the surface to about 464 °C, hotter than Mercury.
Did you know?
Venus spins the opposite way to most planets: there, the Sun rises in the west.
