Galaxy
Andromeda Galaxy (M31)
The most distant object visible to the naked eye

Andromeda is the nearest large spiral galaxy, about 2.5 million light-years away. The light we see tonight left it when the first humans of the genus Homo were appearing on Earth.
Did you know?
It is approaching the Milky Way: in a few billion years the two galaxies will interact.
